KOWIN Pacific LA, The Korea Times 2026 Turtle Marathon Healthy Walking Competition Participation Review

KOWIN Pacific LA also participated in The Korea Times Turtle Marathon Health Walking Competition held at Griffith Park at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026. This event is a representative health event for the Korean community, co-hosted by The Korea Times and Nongshim USA and specially sponsored by Bank of Hope and Seoul Medical Group, and is now in its 11th year.

On the day of the event, participants from various generations walked the hiking trail together in the refreshing air of Griffith Park, took care of their health, and had a meaningful time reaffirming the harmony and unity of the Korean community. KOWIN Pacific LA also walked together with members and acquaintances and shared the energy of the field connecting with the local community.

In particular, this year, a donation box was set up at the site so that participants could voluntarily participate in small donations, and it was announced that the donation, which was ‘the price of a cup of coffee’, would be added to the donation of $2,000 from The Korea Times in the Americas, which would be delivered to the women’s recovery community Acompany Worldwide. I was impressed by the warm hearts gathered in an organization that has supported the recovery and independence of single mothers and women victims of domestic violence.

In addition, thanks to the talent donation from the photography club ‘Photo Love’, an event was held where professional family and group photos were taken, adding to the enjoyment of the site. All participants were provided with free gifts and souvenirs from Nongshim, and through a prize drawing, various prizes such as Asiana Airlines round-trip tickets to Seoul and jewelry sets were provided, brightening the atmosphere of the event.

KOWIN Pacific LA will continue to participate in events that promote healthy living, warm solidarity, and cooperation with the local community, and will faithfully convey good-purpose events and sharing news to members and the community.
