KPLA held a conference on the Stateless Adoptee Citizenship Act on June 1, 2024, starting at 10:30 am, at Oxford Palace Hotel. Attendees learned about the latest developments in the legislation to grant citizenship to stateless adoptees and discussed concrete actions we can take to support its passage. There was no admission fee, and a simple lunch was provided.
As mentioned during the conference, one of our speakers, Emily Warnacke, does not currently have U.S. citizenship, and the Alliance for Adoptee Citizenship carried out a petition-signing campaign in support of clemency for Emily and another stateless adoptee. Attendees took a moment to participate by signing the petition.
